VISION and Mission Statement
The mission of this ministry is to support our youth in middle and high school by keeping them abreast of current issues that will effect them during their high school years. A meeting is held in early spring with the youth and parents to discuss upcoming graduation requirements, course changes, college and career choices and any other pertinent information that the ministry feels is beneficial to our youth and parents.
The mission of the college ministry is to provide financial support to our members who decide to pursue their education beyond high school. In 2010, the first Highpoint Baptist Church scholarship was awarded. The name of the scholarship changed in 2011 to The Rev. Dr. Lemuel and Ezonia Taylor Scholarship because of their commitment to this ministry and education. Since that time, five members have benefited from the scholarship funds. Each year, scholarships are awarded for first place ($2,000), second place ($1,000) and third place ($500) to our deserving members who turn in a completed application packet and complete the entire process. The funds are dispersed in $500 increments each semester until the awarded funds are received. Our members have always been very appreciative of The Rev. Dr. Lemuel and Ezonia Taylor Scholarship.
It is the ministry’s goal to continue to support our members as they strive for excellence in pursuing their goals.
